Medicine of Place Tour
18th to 28th of May, 2026 Only 3 Places Remaining

Join Tara De Róiste and Chris Gambatesa of Wild Routes Ireland & special guest Kat Maier of Sacred Plant Traditions for this inspirational 11-day Medicine of Place Tour where we will dive deep into connection with the natural, sacred, and mystical sites of Ireland. From Western shorelines to ancient Oak woodlands, the liminal limestone landscapes of The Burren to the Cailleach’s craggy peaks of the Beara Peninsula, we will discover & explore the many wild & wonderful landscapes of the isle of Éire and the potent medicine these places offer.

We will visit places of ecological, botanical, archaeological, and historical significance in the wild west of Ireland. Seeking out stone circles on isolated hillsides, walking and learning alongside local herbalists, and exploring ancient forests and bioregions that only exist on this magical isle. Medicine of Place Tour will deepen your connection with plants and planet, history and self. We will explore the art of herbal medicine making and lose ourselves in tales of ancient fairy folk and wise women. We'll also immerse ourselves in contemporary Irish culture–much of it still rooted in ancient folklore and traditions.

This journey is intended to be a collective prayer for the times we are living through, a sacred time to dream with the wild and to vision the future we would wish to see our children inherit. It is a time to return to our roots and to right relationship with the land & with each other.

The land has a memory. Every hill, every rock, every stream has a story to tell, if only we’d listen.
— Eddie Lenihan

Lose yourself in tales of ancient fairy folk and wise women

Get to know Ireland’s most loved Seanchaí (traditional storyteller), Eddie Lenihan. Eddie is what we would consider to be a national treasure. He has spent a lifetime traveling the length & breadth of Ireland gathering and recording the stories of the land and its peoples.

Explore the majestic nature of Irelands Wild West

Set against a majestic backdrop of mountains, lakes, and waterfalls, Uragh Stone Circle is possibly one of the most mystical feeling megalithic sites in the country. A gorgeous drive along the narrow, meandering road down to this remote spot adds an air of anticipation to the journey.

Immerse yourself in contemporary Irish culture & herbal medicine making

Using some herbs that we gathered, we'll get our hands busy making herbal formulas. We'll work with some favorite herbs to craft simple, safe, effective remedies and learn the alchemical process of the art of hydrosol distillation.
